Smoothies are a practical and easy method for increasing your consumption of fibre, fruit, and vegetables. You need a decent blender that is strong enough to constantly turn fresh and frozen fruit into a smooth and creamy texture if you want to make smoothies a routine. If you are thinking about making smoothies a habit, you need a good blender.

  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen strawberries, thawed
  • 1/4 cup pineapple
  • 1/4 cup apricots
  • 1/2 Orange, peeled
  • 1/4 cup water or apple juice
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Place all ingredients in Vita-Mix (or your blender) container in order listed.
  • Secure the lid.
  • Select VARIABLE, speed #1
  • Turn on machine and quickly increase speed to #10 then to HIGH
  • Run for 30 seconds or until smooth.
  • Serve immediately.

This drink is quite tart – sweeten to taste with honey or add a carrot or two perhaps
