Now here is a very tasty gluten-free offering. A sprinkle of Parmesan cheese and a drizzle of olive oil transform tomatoes into the perfect side dish. Or just try sandwiching them between slices of your favourite gluten-free bread. This is one of those side dishes you can have for either breakfast, lunch or dinner and enjoy either hot or cold.

Baked Tomatoes Sprinkled With Parmesan Cheese

Now here is a very tasty gluten-free offering. A sprinkle of Parmesan cheese and a drizzle of olive oil transform tomatoes into the perfect side dish. Or just try sandwiching them between slices of your favourite gluten-free bread. This is one of those side dishes you can have for either breakfast, lunch or dinner and enjoy either hot or cold. Be sure to use Parmesan cheese, the combination of Parmesan and tomato is just bliss. As an option, add some fresh oregano or basil, the smell and taste will be greatly enhanced.

Ingredients

  • 4  tomatoes, halved horizontally
  • 1/4 cup(s) freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon(s) chopped fresh oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
  • Freshly ground pepper, to taste
  • 4 teaspoon(s) extra-virgin olive oil

Method

  • Preheat oven to 180 Degrees C.
  • Place tomatoes cut-side up on a baking sheet. Top with Parmesan, oregano, salt and pepper.
  • Drizzle with oil and bake until the tomatoes are tender, about 15 minutes.
