The possibilities for relief of many symptoms associated with endometriosis,  by simply adopting simple dietary and lifestyle changes are very good. Treatment for endometriosis is sought early on, because "endo" can be particularly painful for some young women I have seen. Many of these have already had an operation to remove the cysts by the time they come to my office. If you have endometriosis, I encourage you to also treat any thrush or if you have a past history of thrush and have not felt that well for some time.

Endometriosis

The possibilities for relief of many symptoms associated with endometriosis,  by simply adopting simple dietary and lifestyle changes are very good. Treatment for endometriosis is sought early on, because “endo” can be particularly painful for some young women I have seen. Many of these have already had an operation to remove the cysts by the time they come to my office. If you have endometriosis, I encourage you to also treat any thrush or if you have a past history of thrush and have not felt that well for some time.

By looking at research into the best natural medicine suggestions for endometriosis I came up with this page and it is intended for you to print out and use as a cheat sheet or some sort of plan to tackle the problem called endometriosis.

I believe that you will be able to reduce your recurrence rate of symptoms by continuing to adhere to these changes outlined below. Try these out to the best of your knowledge and let us know the outcome. The stuff in bold is the most important, and if it is underlined then pay special attention!

Endometriosis Treatment

  • Reducing risk factors, where possible, taking regular exercise, reducing caffeine and alcohol intake. Stopping soft drinks has shown to have a positive effect.
  • Adhering to a low animal fat diet, high fibre and essential fatty acids is an important part of the diet           regime.
  • Having a regular intake of the cabbage family of vegetables, phyto-oestrogens and lignins for a competitive inhibition of oestrogens. Alfalfa and mung-bean sprouts are excellent foods in endometriosis.
  • Adopt a lifestyle which help balance work & relaxation, allow some time to have fun, relax & have a good laugh.
  • Eat more foods which can help your liver inactivate oestrogens through increasing your liver’s detoxification pathways: especially the amino acid called methionine, found in beans, eggs, onions and garlic.
  • Bitter foods which will help your condition: endive, chicory, silverbeet, cos lettuce, mustard greens, dandelion leaf, dandelion root (coffee) grapefruit. See my Liver healthy and not-so healthy diet handout.
  • 30 Minutes of rapid walking every second day. Do no exercises during your period and for optimum results do one class of e.g; aerobics or a high out-put exercise weekly.
  • Recent research has shown that there can be a possible link of thrush with endometriosis.
  • Clinical experience shows that many women benefit from a candida-program undertaken to improve overall gastrointestinal flora, reducing the inflammatory responses in the endometrium.
  • A magnesium tablet when taken twice daily with foods, starting one week before the commencement of the menstrual cycle and ending at the beginning of menses will be found most beneficial for the pain.
