Vitamin B5, also known as pantothenic acid, is found naturally in foods, as well as in supplements. It is one of the most important of the B vitamins for energy production.
Pantothenic acid is synthesised by bacterial flora in the intestines, is a constituent of coenzyme A, plays a key role in the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats, and is therefore important for the maintenance and repair of all cells and tissue of the body.
