Sesame Chews

Sesame chews are a favorite with many people. You often find these little snack bars at the Asian grocery stores. Kids just adore them, and you will never make enough if your have children. The combination of sesame seeds and honey together is sensational, and they make the perfect snack. Great for lunchboxes – just watch out for the teeth. Sticky sweet snacks can spell cavities, so make sure the mouth is rinsed well after eating them.


  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 cup sesame seeds


  • Bring honey to boiling point in a pot then simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in sesame seeds.
  • Spread mixture on non-stick or slightly greased cookie sheet with the back of a spoon, about 1 cm thick.
  • Refrigerate until hard.
  • Break into pieces and store covered in fridge.
