Eat Like This For Great Health
Eric Bakker ND
- Slow down when you eat, take your time and do not rush. Your digestion and bowel function will improve
- Chew your foods well, eat more slowly and deliberately, be aware of what you are doing. You’d be surprised how quick you eat!
- Relax, and never eat when stressed or tired. Remember, you don’t have to eat if you don’t feel like it, eat when you are hungry.
- Have at least one day per week where you eat very light, light enough to make you feel like you could have had a more after your evening meal. This will keep your digestion in good shape as you age.
- Smell and taste your foods, savor your foods and enjoy the experience. This will ensure that sufficient saliva is produced and your digestion will be in fine form. This is a bit like priming the motor before you start the engine.
- Please don’t watch television, read papers, books or emails/computers whilst you eat. Your mind should be on the job.
- Eat smaller portions, buy smaller dinner plates and if you eat out don’t feel that you have to eat everything on your plate. Do you really need that dessert
- Increase the quality and decrease the quantity (except fruit and vegetables) of the foods you consume. For example buy organic or grow your own vegetables and fruits as much as possible. Buy organic chicken at least over commercial poultry.
- Eat a lot less red meat (beef, pork, sheep, and deer) and get more protein more from fish, legumes, nuts and seeds and tofu.
- Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper. Have a good sized breakfast, a medium sized lunch and a smaller portion with your evening meal. Your weight will become much more manageable and your energy levels will increase in the afternoon as your blood sugar levels improve.
I have gained over 20+ lbs within 3 months and I didn’t start out small to begin with. Do you have any suggestions to help me? I am 57 years old with a bad back and with the Adrenal Fatigue, I have no energy whatsoever. I am barely eating enough to keep a fly alive but still gaining as we speak. Please Help.
Thank you-cw
Hi Cindy,
You poor thing, having poor energy levels is a sure fire way to gain plenty of weight! Go and see a practitioner who knows and understands adrenal fatigue, especially a practitioner who utilizes Dr. James Wilson’s adrenal patigue program in their clinic. I have placed nearly 3,000 patients on this outstanding program and can vouch for how effective it is.
